The 2015 QS World University Rankings by Subject, released today, ranks UC Berkeley as first in Environmental Sciences! This status is consistent with Berkeley's number-one rankings by U.S. News & World Report this year, both for global universities in environment/ecology and for grad programs in ecology/evolutionary biology. QS uses data on academic reputation, employer reputation, and research impact in their yearly rankings of the world's top universities in a range of subject areas. A number of UC Berkeley departments and colleges working on environmental issues contribute to this top ranking. We are proud that ESPM's diverse research, education, and outreach played a significant role in achieving this honor. Related disciplines that were also highly ranked at Berkeley include Earth and Marine Sciences, Geography, and Agriculture and Forestry.
