Meeting Conservation with Sarah Allen, Feb 21

Date
Tuesday February 21, 2017
About this event

In the Society for Conservation Biology's 'Meeting Conservation' series, we invite Bay Area scientists to share their non-academic career paths and experiences for students interested in conservation.

On Tuesday Feb 21 from 1-2pm in 103 Mulford, we welcome Dr. Sarah Allen, Science Program Lead of the National Parks Service Pacific West Region. Dr. Allen works with national parks and federal agencies to monitor and restore marine and coastal ecosystems, and has extensive experience studying marine birds and mammals. Her current work addresses environmental challenges ranging from marine debris to climate change.

We'll have an informal roundtable discussion over snacks, where attendees will have the opportunity to ask Dr. Allen about her current and past positions, career path, and advice for early career scientists.
