Research Description
Conservation, development and land use in southern Africa
My research examines patterns of conservation, rural development, and land use in southern Africa, primarily Zambia. I compare and contrast the types of information gathered from different methods and vantage points, including embedded within conservation projects, satellite imagery, and animal locations recorded from GPS collars. Each perspective reveals a different slice of reality varying in the level of abstraction, contextualization, and generalization.Research Group(s)
