I am broadly interested in ecosystem responses to disturbance under global change scenarios and its potential effects on landscape structure at several spatial and temporal scales. My current research is focused on: i) developing a novel fire-vegetation dynamic modeling framework for Mediterranean ecosystems (within the Berkeley Initiative in Global Change Biology) and ii) evaluating how natural fire regimes have been altered (in collaboration with Carol Miller from the Aldo Leopold Wilderness Research Institute).
