Research Description
The research in our lab focuses on social insects, mostly ants - how they communicate, why they behave the ways they do, their ecology, and their evolution. We work in both the field and the lab, studying chemical communication, behaviors, and the genetics of individuals, populations, and species.
We are also committed to the preservation of biodiversity and open spaces, and we share this enthusiasm through public talks, educational outreach to public schools, and professional service to cities and the East Bay Regional Parks.
