Research Description

I am interested in three main academic areas: interaction between organisms and ecosystem processes; connectivity among ecosystems; and impacts of land use. More specifically I am interested in how these topics play out in the stream ecosystems and the interaction between stream food webs and their surrounding watershed and coastal zone. My graduate research is focused on the main Hawaiian Islands and I hope to link my interests with issues and questions facing resource managers and policy makers in Hawaii and else where.
