In a recent video from the WIRED Brand Lab, Professor Inez Fung teams up with Western Digital Chief Data Officer Janet George and comedian Aparna Nancherla to illuminate the impacts of climate change in the 21st century. In an attempt to make climate change a more personal issue, Fung and George simulate an experiment showing what a typical weekend would look like in a world that is 4 degrees Celsius warmer than current temperatures, with Nancherla as the subject. In the simulation, Nancherla's daily routine is turned upside down, from the absence of morning coffee to altered dining experiences due to a protein deficiency crisis.
Fung’s own research focuses on the interaction between the biosphere and the atmosphere in order to predict the future composition of the atmosphere. Her current projects include researching the cycle of carbon dioxide as well as the dust cycle.
