Supports graduate students in the Department.
Current students, things I can do for you directly: review your academic progress; review your financial plan; review department, college and UC policies; file documents to the Graduate Division; plan for qualifying and dissertation committees; plan for your class registration; learn about you as a person.
Things I do for the department: answer questions about admissions process; plan for orientation; support student service appointments; prepare resources to support student development; day-of support ESPM socials and events.
I am a Graduate Student Affairs Officer for ESPM. Prior to being a GSAO, I was a CNR undergraduate academic advisor. From my own experience, I have enjoyed learning and living in nature, seeing the world through different cultures and times, and building solutions through local and regional agencies. Working in ESPM allows all of us to engage, and make a better world.
I've taught Spanish and AP US History in San Antonio, Texas, World Geography and MUN in Houston, Texas. I've also advised college-aged students in Oakland, California. I know that no matter the age, people with drive and curiosity do great work; I hope to build space to allow students to find their inner tools.
When not talking about education, I am visiting with family, hiking, reading, or playing dodgeball (yes, it's a real sport). I look forward to the chance to work together.
