I am a first-year PhD student in Environmental Science, Policy, and Management (ESPM). Broadly, my research interests lie at the intersection of ecology, social science, and economics, with the goal of understanding how humans and biodiversity can mutually thrive. As an avid bird enthusiast, I plan to use avian diversity and community composition to assess the effectiveness of conservation efforts in South America. Additionally, I aim to explore the interactions between humans, local communities, and the environment, as well as how people perceive their surroundings, to guide conservation strategies that benefit both humans and biodiversity. I am also interested in environmental economics as a tool to incentivize positive environmental change.
