The Department’s annual Graduate Research Symposium, also known as The ESPM GradFest Symposium, celebrates and showcases graduate student research. This year’s day-long GradFest took place on Friday May 2, at the David Brower Center and included finishing talks from graduating PhD students, a guest lecture by Jessica Weir (University of Western Sydney), a keynote lecture by poet Robert Hass, and remarks from the Graduate Diversity Council. With finishing talks on a range of topics—from Singapore’s tropical rainforests to California’s grassland spiders, from atmospheric aerosols to health equity data—Gradfest truly represented the breadth of ESPM’s collective research.
